The Saga of Faith is finally complete! And here's the finale!
If you love me, say you do, I can't stop thinking about you! If I want you close to me, I'll take you where you want to be-- "SHIT!!!" Neko jumped up and fumbled around. "What time is it, what time is it, what time is it--" Her eyes finally landed on the clock... 3:45 PM. "Oh my god..." Neko picked up the phone. "Hello?" "Hey, sweetie," Waluigi said. "I'm on the Greyhound right now... I should be in at least 4:45 or so. Are you gonna be there?" "Yes, yes, of course," Neko breathed. "I'll be there." Neko looked over at Penjullu, who was still asleep. Sorry, she said to herself, then scampered off to the bathroom to take a shower. Not too long after, Mayaa walked past Neko's room and still saw Penjullu tangled in the covers. Oohhh... still asleep... I wanna get in there... wait a minute, where did Neko go? I probably shouldn't, but... Mayaa reached forward and touched Penjullu's leg, causing him to jump awake. "Mistress-- where-- Miss Mayaa?!?" "Um... hi." "Where did Mistress Neko go?" "Heh... I have no idea. I looked in here like 20 minutes ago and she was sound asleep, but now she just... disappeared. ...She probably went down to the Greyhound station already." "What?!" Penjullu ran out of the bedroom and was about to go downstairs when he suddenly ran into Neko coming out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel. "Oh!? Mistress Neko, there you are... I'm so relieved..." Neko heaved a sigh. "Sorry for not waking you up, but I was in a hurry," she said. She stood up and walked into her room, where Mayaa was still sitting on the futon. "Oh, there you are, Neko," she said. "I thought you'd already left or something." "No, no..." Neko sighed. "But in any case I have to get down to the Greyhound station soon." "Ooohhhhh..." Mayaa sighed. "Put on something nice, like that blue thing you wore when you were TRYING to sing." "Excellent idea, Mayaa," Neko said. Penjullu gulped. "I shall accompany you to the Greyhound sta--" "No." Penjullu's eyes widened. "'N--no? But... but... why...?" "Um, Neko, need I remind you Penjullu's heart bruises easily?" Mayaa said, grimacing. Neko heaved a sigh. "I don't want him to come because I don't want him to get hurt," she said as she zipped up her skirt. "Even... though... Well, maybe I should. Waluigi should meet Penjullu in person, and vice versa." "Ho-yeah. And while we're at it, I'll come too," Mayaa said. "Some female support, eh?" "Okay. We'll all go." Then there's gonna be a huge fight... Neko added silently.
Mayaa ate a custard-filled donut while she stared at a page in a tabloid magazine. "I can't believe this," she mumbled to herself. "I mean, who reads this celebrity dish stuff? More to the point, who cares? I mean, it's-- Whoa, here we go. Another Kidnapping in Hyuson Forest! Oh, let's see who the victim is this time. Uh... Sasha, age 8... Holy shit, that's Sammy's cousin!! God, Sammy's gonna be traumatized when she reads this. Neko, get a load of this. ...Neko?" Neko grunted and waved her off. "Not now, Mayaa!" she groaned. "Ah, right, sorry," Mayaa said, shrugging and taking another bite out of the donut. "Let's hope Sammy doesn't see this, though." Penjullu rubbed Neko's hand as she stared at her feet. "Please try to relax, Mistress Neko," he said softly to her. "I'm still here..." "True that, Penjullu, but--" "MK City to Hyuson, now arriving. Once again, Mk City to Hyuson, now arriving, with service to--" "Oh my god, he's here, he's here..." Neko gasped, jumping up. "Oop..." Mayaa exclaimed. "Show time." She put the tabloid back and finished off her donut. "Mmm... meh, I'm gonna get another." She walked back to the snack stand as the Greyhound finally pulled to a stop. Penjullu clung tightly to Neko as they both watched various people get off the Greyhound. He could feel her heartbeat quickly increasing. Mayaa walked back up beside the two of them. "They ran out of custard donuts so I got a chocolate creme one. You want some?" Neko took the donut and took a few bites out of it before handing it back to Mayaa. "Oh... ohh..." Mayaa suddenly exclaimed. "I think he's finally... Yes!!" Neko gasped. "Oh my god... he's here..." Tears of excitement slid down her face. They could see Waluigi scanning the area before finally looking in their direction. Mayaa waved excitedly and motioned towards Neko. Waluigi walked towards them, a smile developing on his face. Neko pried herself loose from Penjullu and ran towards him, her arms outstretched. Mayaa smirked. "If this was a movie, this is where that super-slow-mo would start," she said. "Don't you think so, Penjullu? You can just see them slowing down?" Penjullu suddenly let out a very silent but obvious snarling noise. "Uh-oh," she muttered. "Major hurt coming up." She slipped away from the scene. "Waluigi... I've missed you so much..." Neko said. "I can tell you're happy to see me," Waluigi smiled. "Glad to have you back." "Glad to have you back." "So... it's you..." Penjullu said. Neko heaved a sigh. "And so it begins..." she muttered to herself. "You are... Waluigi?" Penjullu asked. "If so, then you are responsible of completely destroying Mistress Neko's and mine single chance of perfect harmony and happiness." "Ouch," Mayaa said. Waluigi started snickering. "You talk as if it already started. ...Did it?" Neko shook her head no. "Nothing happened." "I brought Mistress Neko to heights of passion that even you could never reach," Penjullu suddenly said. "And, she has as well." "Ohh, there he goes bragging again," Mayaa said. "That just makes him sound stupid." "You don't know what I can do," Waluigi said. "Hey, tell you what. When we get home I'll demonstrate, heh heh heh. Then we'll see whose sex she likes more." Penjullu's eyes widened, then narrowed into near slits. His ears flattened all the way, and his eyes started glowing. "How... dare... you..." "TIME OUT! STOP!!" Mayaa suddenly yelled. "Okay... the fireworks factory is about to explode here. Let's just everybody calm down, okay?" "I cannot calm down," Penjullu breathed. "I... I must have Mistress Neko back... she is... the only one... for me..." "Hey, Neko... let's go to the park, eh?" Waluigi said. "There's something I really need to tell you." "Oh... okay," Neko replied, leaning against Waluigi. Tears welled up in Penjullu's eyes as he watched the two of them walk away. "Mistress Neko!!! Please, come back!! I hoped we could stay together... please... do not turn your back on me... forever...!" I'm sorry, Penjullu, Neko thought. But sometimes... fate takes a turn for the worse for some people... But you're still in my heart regardless of what happens. "Oh come ON!" Mayaa groaned. "It isn't like she hates you, stop acting like a baby!" "But... but I... I love her more than anyone else ever will!" "Yes, yes, and that's all fine and good, but you gotta let this thing go!" The two of them argued for ten minutes before leaving the station.
Waluigi and Neko had the park to themselves... the sun had gone down and nobody was around. The two of them sat down in the grass near the lake in the middle of the park. Waluigi cleared his throat. "Neko?" "Ye-- yes?" Neko looked up at him. "What is it?" "I've been thinking about you," Waluigi continued. "About us. I mean, you've been here for months with that jealous Hypno hanging over you all the damn time, and I just wanna end this craziness once and for all." Neko's eyes widened and she let out a tiny whimper. "Now hold on, hold on, don't be gettin' all scared on me just yet," Waluigi said, snickering and patting Neko's head. "Now, here's what I really wanted to tell you here." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny box. "This is what Luigi couldn't figure out... all right, here it comes. Neko... wanna marry me?" He opened the box to reveal a somewhat large diamond ring. Neko's eyes bulged out of her head. "Oh my god... I'm not... dreaming, am I?" "Nope. This is for real. So, you wanna marry me?" "....YES!!!" Neko exploded with joy. "Yes, I will!" Neko flung herself into his arms, almost knocking the two of them into the lake. "Heh heh... yeah. Come here." Waluigi sat her up and put the ring on her left finger. "How about that? It looks really good on you." "Yeah..." Neko sighed. Waluigi stood her up. "Come on, Neko. Let's go back and show your friends."
"So how did it go?" Keiko asked. Neko was speechless. She didn't know what to say, so instead she just extended out her left hand. Almost immediately everybody exploded. "HOLY SHIT!!" "IS THAT A REAL WEDDING RING?!" "ARE YOU TWO SERIOUSLY TYING THE KNOT?!" "I CAN'T WAIT!!" "YOU MUST BE TOTALLY ON CLOUD NINE, DUDE!!" "I knew they'd go nuts," Waluigi said. Neko nodded. "Well, that's just them." After everybody quieted down, Neko could hear her bedroom door close loudly. "Uh... excuse me a minute." Neko ran up to her room and opened the door. Penjullu was lying on her futon, facing the wall. He sounded like he was crying. Neko crept up to him and touched him on the arm, but instead was met with a completely unexpected reaction... "Leave me alone!!" Penjullu snapped, and his elbow slammed rather roughly into her stomach. She let out a loud gasp, toppling over. "Ugh... oww... I had no idea you'd get this pissed..." She coughed as she tried to get her breath back. Penjullu rolled over and immediately rushed to her side. "Oh no... oh no... Mistress Neko... I'm so sorry... I thought you were Miss Mayaa... oh no... I hurt you... please forgive me... I can't believe I just... hurt you, Mistress Neko... " "Ack... relax, relax. It's not that bad." Neko sat up and cleared her throat. "I know tonight has been really hard for you, so I don't blame you getting a bit uppity. But... sometimes these things just... happen." "Mistress Neko..." Penjullu sighed. He looked down at her left hand and saw the ring. "Did he...?" "Yes. Ten minutes ago." Penjullu heaved a sigh. "Mistress Neko, does this mean... I'll never be able to see you again?" Neko petted his head. "Of course not, Penjullu. Believe it or not, there's a place in my heart just for you. I'll remember everything about us... all the memories." "Oh, Mistress Neko..." Penjullu held onto her tightly. "I'll miss you... I'll always love you... but I suppose the right thing to do would be to... return to my home for now." Waluigi leaned against the door. "That's nice," he said. "So, you two are, like... long-time friends or something?" "Uh-huh," Neko replied. "Since I was three. My parents domesticated him." "Interesting." Penjullu stood up and let Neko walk him to the door. "Goodbye, Mistress Neko," he said. "Remember... I'll always love you no matter what happens. The second his feelings change, I will know... and I will be here." Waluigi snickered. "I'm not that bad," he said. Penjullu suddenly glared at him. "Yes... you are," he said. The girls let out small gasps. Waluigi still had a smirk on his face. Penjullu leaned forward and kissed Neko one last time, then teleported away. "Goodbye, Penjuu-tan," Neko said, then turned towards Waluigi. "Y'know, there's something I've been missing quite a bit..." she giggled. "I think I know where you're getting at," Waluigi said. "Come on!" The two of them ran back indoors. Vivian heaved a sigh. "And we're back to the way things were before," she said. "Come on, guys, let's leave those two alone and get some gelato."

Anyway, long time, no see, eh? I'm SOOOOOO glad to be back online! I did miss our chats via LJ, email, and AIM.
And I really missed fangirling about Waluigi! ^^ ^^
What gets to me about this entire story was how Neko totally played Penjullu... and everyone was okay with it. Even worse, Neko is completely hiding things from the man she just get engaged to. I know Neko's your favorite character, but she's leaving a sour taste in my mouth here...
Actually, Neko tells Waluigi everything that went on between herself and Penjullu. Maybe you missed that part, I dunno. *shrug* ...And I suppose Penjullu is extremely forgiving. X3
Yeah, I guess I did forget that part. I just don't understand how he's cool with it. I wouldn't want my man all up in a Jynx while I'm not around...
Actually, I wouldn't really either. (Unless I joined in, LOLZ!!) X3 ...Ah, sorry. Anyway, I apologize if I made Neko sound like a bad example for a girlfriend, and I'll try not to do that in a future fanfiction. | |
